Classic custom homebuilt retro teardrop trailer RV Camper rat hot rod

Description

This is not a Ho-Hum cookie cutter assembly line trailer.
It’s design is reminiscent of the Kit teardrops of the 50’s.
I am an 81 year-old hot rod builder and my retro inclinations and meticulous detail are obvious in this trailer.
Only the best materials, including all stainless steel hardware were used in the construction.
I have an itemized parts list totaling more than ,000 and have hundreds of hours invested.
The basic frame is 4’x 8’ steel channel frame.
New Northern Tool “Ultra Pack” easy lube hubs have a 5 x 4.5” bolt pattern.
These hubs pack completely through a zerk fitting at rear of hub (see diagram).
Sides are of ¾” prefinished birch plywood.
The entire trailer is skinned with .032 mill finish aluminum with tread plate aluminum gravel shields front and back.
The exterior floor is ¾” treated plywood which has multiple coats of bedliner coating on bottom surface.
Wheels are powder coated Ford 15” with baby moon caps and stainless trim rings.
Tires are 205/90D15 trailer tires with 2.5” portawalls.
1933-34 Ford pickup fiberglass fenders are fitted with 1929-31 Ford tail lights.
The inside and front surface of fenders have multiple coats of bedliner material for gravel protection.
Ground clearance of 13 inches allows rough road use.
Ample storage is provided in cabin and hatch cabinets.
Hatch lid seal is enhanced with draw latcheson either side and supported by Five Oceans hatch springs.
Hatch kitchen has slide outs for ice chest and Coleman propane 2 burner stove.
Kitchen prep space is augmented with removable side mount table.
The cabin is fitted with a 48" x 75" Firm Support high density foam mattress.  As is the case with tear drop campers it will sleep two very close friends.
Cabin circulation is provided by Original Hehr crank outdoor windows and ceiling vent with small 12 volt fan.
All seams are sealed with
Dicor CS112B-1 Seal-Tite Corner Seal Tape
and
Geocel GC28100 Pro Flex RV Flexible Sealant
.
A deep cycle 12volt battery powers cabin and hatch lights, reading lights, 3 USB charging ports and vent fan.
Battery, chocks,leveling blocks and DC power fuse block are housed in powder coated locking tongue box.
Towing power charges battery underway and a maintainer/charger is included to maintain battery at home or when camping with shore power.
Telescoping Swing Down stabilizing Jacks are fitted to each corner of the frame so it won’t be rockin’ if someone comes a knockin’.
Fully loaded, this trailer weighs 920 lbs and tows like a dream.
There are some commercially produced teardrops available, but why not camp and adorn your street rod with some style!?
