This listing is for a one pound raw central Texas chert / flint stone used for starting fires with a steel striker, or for flint knapping and shaping into spear points or arrowheads.
These chert / flint rocks have not been heat-treated or processed in any way. Because this is a natural product, the stone may contain some cracks, fissures, inclusions or fractures.
Chert and Jasper are the general names for several types of stone that are extremely hard and fracture into pieces with sharp edges. Flint is usually chert that is gray. The chert stone you will receive will be yellow to reddish brown inside.
